Introducing our Young Families Committee. (message from Lorrine)

Here we grow 🎉

Hey, I'm Lorrine a member of the GAC of course, and the lead of our new Young Families Committee!

We're so excited to launch this committee with a mission to reach even more Goan families with young children and help them feel at home in the GAC community. With events we can plan, playdates and more - this committee is whatever we'd like it to be - together with our kids.

As we reflect on the energy and joy of GAC’s first event of the year, I’m filled with pride and gratitude for the way our young families showed up, shared their talents, and helped set the tone for an exciting year ahead.

On May 10, our children kicked off the talent show by marching into the hall with smiles and heartfelt messages written for their moms and grandmothers—bringing both tears and laughter to the audience. From there, the stage lit up with music, jokes, and confidence. Chase and Ryder played the saxophone and guitar to “Mogan So Borem,” Conrad had the crowd giggling with his jokes, and big brother Caleb brought down the house with his trumpet performance of “Mary-Ann.” These are the moments that bring our community to life.

As we plan upcoming events, we’re calling on our wider GAC family—especially those who have a talent, hobby, or passion they’d love to share with our youth. Whether it's teaching a skill, running a fun workshop, or even just helping out behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.

In particular, we’re looking for volunteers to support a youth soccer initiative we’re hoping to launch soon. If you have coaching experience, or just love the game and want to help out, please get in touch.
