If you’ve heard the thump of a well-struck ball and a chorus of kid-sized cheers on Wednesday evenings, you’ve met the heartbeat of our youth soccer meet-ups: Coach Savio Mascarenhas.

Savio—longtime GAC community member and former pro soccer player—brought professionalism, patience, and pure joy to every single session. He built each meet-up with warm-ups, footwork, passing drills, and mini-matches that made the kids feel like they were training with the big leagues. He even coached on his birthday. That’s commitment. His passion for the sport—and for passing it on to our young ones—was truly inspiring.
What Coach Savio Gave Our Kids
Skills and structure: Real fundamentals delivered at a kid-friendly pace.
Confidence and teamwork: Every child left a little braver, a little stronger, and a lot prouder.
Sportsmanship: Respect for teammates, opponents, and the game itself—modeled every week.
Thank You, Families
To every parent who hauled cleats, water bottles, and folding chairs—rain or shine—thank you. Your energy on the sidelines, quick orange-slice assists, and “one more drill” encouragement made these meet-ups something special for our kids.
From All of Us
Savio, we can’t thank you enough for showing up with heart and high standards week after week. You set the bar for what community coaching can be—and our kids will carry your lessons well beyond the pitch.
