Let us as one community come together to celebrate the traditional festivity commemorating the Nativity of our Blessed Virgin Mary, a feast celebrated worldwide by the Mangalorean Catholic Community through veneration of Our Lady in the Church, the blessing of the first harvest, and the sharing of the traditional meal “Novem Jevan”.

Event Details

Date: September 6th, 2025Venue: St. Thomas More Parish, 15 Templebow Road, NE Calgary, AB T1Y 6J3

Agenda:

• 10:00 AM: Flower offering & procession, followed by Konkani/English Holy Mass

• 11:30 AM: Light snack, cake-cutting, & Novem distribution

• 12:00 PM: Kids’ skit on "Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima"

• 12:30–1:30 PM: Novem Jevan (traditional Mangalorean meal)

• 1:30–3:00 PM: Cultural program, 50/50 raffle & Baila dancing

• 3:15 PM onwards: Clean-up & vacate premises - parking provision for confession & 4 PM parish Mass.

Spiritual Preparation

Short prayerful Triduum on the evenings of:  September 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2025

from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM, followed by a simple meal.

Consider serving in these roles:

Monti Fest Mass:

- Prayers of the Faithful (Konkani): 6 volunteers needed

- Ushers: 2 needed

- Altar Servers: 1 more needed

- Offertory: Families welcome (6 families needed)

Triduum Masses:

- Introduction readers (Konkani): 3 needed

- Reading (English): 2 needed

You can also offer Mass intentions for Triduum and Monti Fest – specify your preferred day!
